Avian Vet El Paso

List of Avian Vets El Paso | Bird Healthcare

Looking for an exotic or avian vet in El Paso, TX? I’ve put together a list of all the veterinary practices and animal hospitals I could find in the El Paso area that have avian specialists at the time of publishing.

If you’re raising domestic birds, such as parrots, chickens, ducks, etc, it’s important to know if you have an avian vet in your area should you need one.

Emergency or not, not all vets will treat birds. They’re very different from cats and dogs, which is why some vets specialize in this area of medicine.

I hope this list helps you locate a veterinary practice for your bird!:

TLC Animal Hospital is a small animal hospital that has left a big impression on the local community. Founded in 1978, the practice is now headed up by Dr. Vicki Dashley and Dr. Alfredo Lara.

Dr Dashley treats a wide range of exotic, small, and avian pets. If you take your bird in, it’s likely Dr Dashley you will be booking an appointment with.

They offer a range of services and have an excellent reputation as far as I’m able to find out by digging around online. I recommend giving TLC Animal Hospital a call if you’re a bird owner in the El Paso area.

Dr. Silpa at Mesa Veterinary Clinic is their resident exotic and avian specialist. At the time of publishing, he was working towards specialty recognition with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP).

They also have one of the longest lists of exotic animals they treat that I’ve seen. They welcome any animals, from camels and birds to turtles, wallabies, and everything in between.

Mesa Veterinary Clinic also has a mobile unit called Paws-N-Hooves. Something to keep in mind if you’re struggling with transporting your pet, I’d certainly speak with them about options.

Their mission statement on their site reads:

We practice best medicine and high-level client education to meet the specific needs of every pet. We pride ourselves in our mission of helping El Paso help their pets.

Country Club Animal Clinic has an interesting story. The business was started by Dr. Harvey, who was making house calls out of the back of her car.

She started out specializing in birds and exotic animals. Later starting a complete animal clinic at the location you can now find the Country Club Animal Clinic, and they now see most animals.

The mission statement on their website says they are:

committed to providing the highest standard of quality care for your pets. We continually strive to provide the up to date care that you expect for all your furry, feathered or scaly family members!

In Summary – Hope You Found an Avian Vet Near You

Choosing a vet is not something I take lightly. With chickens and a parrot myself, my options were limited and I wanted to find somewhere I felt comfortable with a skilled Dr.

I know how hard it can be to find an avian vet you trust with your beloved pets. But, hopefully, with the list or veterinary practices above it’s not a difficult decision for you.
